8x8 HDMI Matrix Switcher is the most popular category among the family of HDMI Matrix Switches. This line of HDMI Matrix products is defined at the most basic level as a video matrix switch with 8 HDMI inputs and 8 HDMI outputs. They are commonly found in installations ranging from home entertainment systems to small bars and restaurants.

All of these 8x8 HDMI Matrix switches ship with a basic set of control capabilities including front panel push button controls and RS232 for interfacing with computers and popular controller software packages. More advanced units ship with an integrated RJ45 port that allows TCP/IP control from remote locations. Most of the 8×8 HDMI switches include a small LCD display for easy configuration.

While simple HDMI input and output is popular for most applications, the range of options and capabilities is rapidly expanding. HDBaseT outputs are available for installations with longer cable runs and allow Full HD 1080p out to 330 feet. Many of the HDBaseT devices are combination HDMI and HDBaseT output allowing the ports to be mirrored for a maximum of 16 outputs.
